The Hose

Yesterday, I was outside grilling dinner, and as usual, Dylan likes to be outside with me and he loves playing with the hose. Well, I turned the hose on for him and if you could've seen what happened you would be rolling on the ground. The hose was near the grill, and the grill and mommy were near the house. Dylan picked up the hose and started spraying it not realizing that the hose nozzle was pointing directly at himself in the extreme power mode. I looked up to see him getting soaked (see hair above - happened from force of the water shooting from the hose)...he threw the hose down next to me and it landed on the driveway with the handle pointing straight up at me and the house...I was the next one in the line of fire and I too got soaked. I looked around to see if anyone saw us, not sure if they did, however, we have the high school right across the street from us and they were practicing football, if anyone saw what happened they got a good chuckle.

Sitting Up

5 Months Old and sitting up, looking back at Dylan's baby book, he sat up at 5 3/4 months.

The Things They Do

First off, how did my 2 1/2 year old son, who weighs approximately 30 lbs, fit in our television cabinet? Second, how did he get the doors to close by himself? I am afraid what I will find him doing next. He is definitely all boy.

Next picture, I posted for my brother...I say this because I vividly remember my brother tying all sorts of things together when he was little. I honestly don't know how the mind of little boys work, but sometimes the things they do can be rather amusing. As you can see from the picture above Dylan thought it would be fun to tow his trike around with his little car.

Growing Up

Currently, I am downstairs in the office trying to get away from the crying little girl upstairs. This morning I went to the doctor with Cassidy because I thought she had an ear infection...she hasn't been sleeping well for the past four nights, however, this was not the case, she's perfectly healthy. According to the doctor she loves me way too much, especially at night and she is going through some separation anxiety. Additionally, she hates sleeping in her crib, she'd rather sleep in her car seat...I told the dr. and he informed me that I needed to let her "cry it out". I did this with Dylan, but he wasn't as bad, he'd take naps and sleep in his crib. Anyway, I've been listening to her cry for 40 minutes...it's really hard not to pick her up and cuddle with her, but I know it will get better and eventually she'll fall asleep. If anyone has suggestions on how to get her to sleep (she doesn't like pipes...so she doesn't have a comfort mechanism right now) I welcome your advice.

The pics above just show her growing up, she's almost sitting by herself, she started eating cereal and she's rolling over a little...how fast they grow up.

John Ball Park Zoo

Last week Thursday, Matt took off from work early and Dylan and him went to the John Ball Park Zoo, while Cassidy and I went shopping. Dylan loved the zoo, he especially liked the Petting Zoo because he was able to comb the hair of the goats. Matt told me they spent 45 minutes combing goats hair...the goats must love all these little kids coming at them with bristle brushes. I only wish my son loved getting his hair combed as much as he likes to comb others hair.

We're back from Robinson Lake and I am tired (as well both kids), but we had a lot of fun and that's what counts. I didn't think I could handle bringing Cassidy, who is 4 months old on vacation with us, however, it worked and we ended up having a great time. I was amazed at how well Dylan adapted to his new surroundings, now I am more worried about the week ahead, I think he was a bit spoiled with all the people around and the amount of fun things he got to do, so we shall see how he handles being back at home in the regular routine of things. We had great weather all week long, good family and friends to hang out with and a great place to stay, so needless to say we can't wait for next year!
